Section 22(1)
“The holder of an identity card shall not transfer or assign that card to any other person.”
Section 22(1A)
“No person shall possess, use, or abuse a national identity card belonging to any other living person or any deceased person.“
Section 22(2)
“No person shall cause damage to or deface, or in any way later or change the character of, any identity card, or make any unauthorized duplicate of such card.”
Section 22(3)
“Any person who contravenes the provisions of subsections (1), (1A) and (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding ten thousand rupees, or to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding five years or to both such fine and imprisonment.”
